MIND at Manor House Surgery

Are you feeling stressed, in a low mood or just down right depressed?Maybe you are feeling ok but want to feel great!  If so you can arrange an appointment.

It's not often we get the opportunity to take time out and talk to someone who is there simply to listen. MIND's service is just that. As well as providing a safe space for you to talk, MIND volunteers can give you information on current services and direct you to other agencies in the community.

MIND will be holding clinics at Hadfield from 2nd July. There will be both  "drop in" and prebookable "one to one" clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays 10.00 - 12.00. The one to one appointments  last 50 minutes. Please ring the surgery at Hadfield to book these.

Maternity Leave

Dr Mounna Gor will be on maternity leave from 1st July for one year.

Dr Richard Fitton will be covering her surgeries while she is on leave.

Medical Students

Fifth year medical students, in their final year pre qualification, are working with us from the end of August until March 2011. If you do not want a medical student to be present at your consultation, please let reception staff know.

Appointments

Appointments can be made by telephoning 01457 860860.
Option1 for Manor House Glossop
Option2 for Manor House Hadfield

We operate an advanced access system and aim to have enough appointments available so that you can be seen the day you need to be seen. There are also appointments available if you wish to book in advance for another day.

We endeavour to fit in with your choice of time and doctor for appointments, but during busy periods this may not always be possible and we ask for your understanding should this occur.

If you need to cancel an appointment, giving 24 hours  or more notice, please click the link on the home page. Otherwise, please telephone to cancel.

Continuity of Care

You have the choice to see any of our doctors or nurses.

However, we value continuity of care. This means dealing with, either seeing or by telephone, the same doctor or nurse for the same episode of illness. We know this leads to better care and it also helps the doctor or nurse to look after your needs appropriately. Therefore we encourage you to see the same person throughout a particular episode of care whenever possible.

Who to see?

Nurse practitioners

Our nurse practitioners are available for you to consult instead of the doctor. They have been trained to diagnose and treat common complaints. Please make an appointment to see them in the usual way. Nurse practitioners are available for telephone advice. They can discuss immediate health concerns, assess severity of illness and offer treatment.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses are highly trained and can be consulted directly. They run our treatment room. They carry out monitoring for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma and other long term diseases. They will advise on general health care, healthy eating and minor ailments, eg if you are not sure whether to consult a doctor, speak to the nurse first.

Nursing Assistants / Health Care Assistants

The nursing assistant is trained to take blood samples and carry out routine blood pressure checks and weight management.
