Are you feeling stressed, in a low mood or just down right depressed?Maybe you are feeling ok but want to feel great!  If so you can arrange an appointment.

It's not often we get the opportunity to take time out and talk to someone who is there simply to listen. MIND's service is just that. As well as providing a safe space for you to talk, MIND volunteers can give you information on current services and direct you to other agencies in the community.

MIND will be holding clinics at Hadfield from 2nd July. There will be both  "drop in" and prebookable "one to one" clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays 10.00 - 12.00. The one to one appointments  last 50 minutes. Please ring the surgery at Hadfield to book these.

Medical Students

Fifth year medical students, in their final year pre qualification, are working with us from the end of August until March 2011. If you do not want a medical student to be present at your consultation, please let reception staff know.

Swine Flu

SWINE FLU

The symptoms of swine flu are just like ordinary flu : all of these: - Feeling very unwell - Temperature - Aches and pains - Cold symptoms, cough Plus diarrhoea in some people Do not confuse flu (feeling very unwell) with a cold (feeling a little unwell).

If you think you might have Swine Flu DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY. Treat like normal flu with paracetamol and fluids.

Most symptoms will pass within 48 hours If you have a pre-existing problem of chronic lung disease, diabetes, asthma, are on immunosuppressant drugs or pregnant, ring for a telephone flu consultation.

Anti-viral treatment
MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT NEED ANTI-VIRAL TREATMENT The treatment for most will be the ordinary remedies, Paracetamol or Cocodamol and fluids which you can get from the chemist. The only people who will use antiviral are the under 5's, and those with pre-existing illness.

Contacts of people with Swine Flu DO NOT NEED ANTI-VIRAL DRUGS unless they have a pre-existing illness of chronic lung disease, diabetes, asthma, are on immunosuppressant drugs or pregnant Antibiotics are of no help unless there is a secondary infection on top of the Swine Flu
